Touch ups, otherwise known as the "perfecting session," are scheduled to make any adjustments after your Initial Session to ensure everything heals perfectly. Whether you want them darker or thicker or just need to touch up a few spots, this appointment is for you! If you are happy with how your brows have healed, you do not need to book a touch up. I do recommend scheduling one when you book your Initial Session just so it's in the calendar, but if you decide you're happy with them we can always cancel it.

Touch ups are done starting at 12 weeks after your Initial Session and up to 6 months after. After 6 months it will be considered a Color Boost appointment.

• WHAT IS MICROBLADING?

  Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing technique used to enhance the appearance of eyebrows. It involves using a handheld tool with tiny needles to create small, hair-like strokes in the skin, which are filled with pigment to mimic the look of natural eyebrow hairs.

• DOES IT HURT?

  A highly-effective, topical anesthetic cream is used for numbing before your procedure. Pain threshold levels vary from person to person and every effort is made to ensure you remain comfortable during the procedure. on average, clients claim it is a 2-5 on the pain scale out of 10. Having this service performed during your menstrual cycle may increase discomfort during your procedure. If you are a frequent smoker, the topical anesthetics used during the procedure will not last as long. If you have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, be aware that this may affect your sensitivity tolerance to the procedure.

• HOW LONG IS THE SESSION?

  Your initial session can take up to 2-3 hours depending on how much work needs to be done. The duration consists of consultation, numbing, mapping and microblading.

• DO I GET TO SEE THE SHAPE BEFORE?

  Of course! Your artist will take their time to map out a beautiful shape for you and will let you “ok” the shape before they start. This moment is very important to go over anything that makes you uncomfortable as these are the moments right before the tattoo. It’s also very important for you to trust your artist and not go overboard on micro changes. Only book when you are confident enough in your artist, please.

• WHATS THE HEALING PROCESS?

  Your semi-permanent makeup will appear darker and more intense than expected for the first few days. They will become dry and peel, before gradually lightening during the complete healing process. Redness and swelling is minimal. Your brows will fade about 20% from what they are the day you get them done. The next couple of days they may appear to be getting darker and thicker, they are not, it is the pigment oxidizing. The pigment may also appear warm or reddish. The pigment naturally cools down as it heals, this ensures a neutral healed result. Over the next few days, you may have some light flaking, this is very normal, thick scabbing is not. Scabbing will be prevented by keeping the brows clean and moisturized. After the flaking, the pigment may appear very light. The true color will appear more as they heal. Healing can feel a bit like a rollercoaster at times, but be patient and diligent in caring for them and you get the best result possible.

• WHEN IS YOUR TOUCH-UP?

  When you come in for your initial visit we will book your next visit. Or you are welcome to schedule your Perfecting Session at anytime through my website. This is optional. You will need to schedule it between 12 weeks from your initial appointment.

• HOW LONG WILL THEY LAST?

  Cosmetic tattoo treatments are considered semi-permanent and will not wash off, however, they will fade over time and may need to be refreshed every 1-2 years. Frequency of sessions depends on a number of factors including: the pigment used (lighter colors fade faster), lifestyle (sweat, sun exposure) and if any chemical peels come into contact with treated areas. Please note that final results CAN NOT be guaranteed as each unique skin type will hold pigments differently and break down at different rates. We will re-evaluate how your skin has received the pigment at your second session and make any changes necessary. Multiple sessions are normal for cosmetic tattoo procedures, with each new procedure requiring a minimum of 2 visits. Your second session can be booked no sooner than 2 months after the initial appointment. Additional sessions will be charged according to our current pricing.

• AM I THE RIGHT CADIDATE FOR MICROBLADING?

  Those with young, dry/normal skin and a good amount of brow hair are the best candidates for microblading. Generally very oily or mature skin doesn’t heal as well as those with dry skin, but with an experienced artist can still have great results. 

  Unfortunately, not everyone is a candidate for permanent makeup. I want each of my clients to have the absolute best results possible, but not every client is best suited for microblading.

  What is a contraindication?

• A contraindication is a condition or circumstance that suggests or indicates that a particular technique or product should not be used on a person. 

  Microblading Contraindications include:

  -High blood pressure, heart conditions, or on heart medications

  -Taking blood-thinners such as aspirin, fish oil or similar medications

  -Taking antibiotics, or received any vaccinations within 2 weeks

  -Uncontrolled diabetes (clients with controlled diabetes should consult their doctor and bring a doctors note)

  -Pregnant or breastfeeding

  -Herpes simplex

  -Certain skin conditions e.g. acne near brow area, rashes, blisters, psoriasis, eczema, or rosacea

  -Using steroids topically or internally such as cortisone, Accutane, Retinol Retin-A or Renova

  -Allergic to Lidocaine

  -Susceptibility to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation

  -Hypertrophic scarring or keloid scarring

  -Spider veins or a birthmark in the area they want to be treated

  -Blood disorder e.g. sickle cell anemia, haemophilia, or a platelet disorder

  -Anyone who has any serious medical conditions may require a physician's note.

  -Thick porous, oily skin or thin, fragile aging skin

  -Sunburns in the last 2 weeks

  -Chemical peels in the last 2 weeks

  -Botox or injectables in the last 2 weeks

  -Those with nickel or hair dye allergies should have a patch test done behind the ear prior to procedure

  -Frequent smoker, your pigment may fade sooner.

  -If you are currently going through chemotherapy, please wait at least 3 months post to get microblading done because like with any tattoo, there is a risk of infection. Please consult with your physician, prior to any semi permanent cosmetic procedure.

• HOW SHOULD I PREPAREFOR MY APPOINTMENT?

  If you have an ideal shape in mind, bring a few reference photos with you to your appointment. (This does not necessarily mean you will get those exact brows as everyones face is different) You may fill in your eyebrows as you normally would so we can take into consideration the shape you desire. (Again, this does not mean you will get those exact brows. Please trust your artist to do what’s best.) Do not remove any hairs at least 4 weeks prior to your appointment. The more the hair, the better. If there are any stray hairs that fall outside of our final shape, we can remove them. If you plan to go on a vacation, it is recommended to plan your trip a minimum of 14 days after the procedure. We require our clients to avoid any blood thinning medication for a minimum of 72 hours prior to their appointment. This includes Vitamin E, Aspirin, Niacin, fish oil supplements, and Ibuprofen. Do not drink any alcohol the night before and day of your appointment and limit the amount of caffeine you consume. If you have been on prescription Accutane in the past, you MUST wait at least one year before considering this procedure. It is highly recommended that you avoid SUN and TANNING BED exposure for 2 weeks BEFORE and AFTER your procedure. If you show up for your appointment with a new tan or a sunburn, you will need to reschedule and will forfeit your deposit. As your skin exfoliates from a sunburn, it will take the pigment with it

• WHAT IF I HAVE PREVIOUS MICRO-BLADED BROWS?

  DO NOT BOOK IF YOU HAVE ANY KIND OF PERMANENT TATTOOED EYEBROWS.

  If you have had your eyebrows previously tattooed, from 5, 10, 20yrs ago of any kind, DO NOT BOOK AN APPOINTMENT. WE DO NOT OFFER ANY BROW COVER UP OR CORRECTIONS OF ANY KIND.

• Right to Refuse Service

We believe in cultivating a positive and respectful environment for both our clients and our artists alike. We are committed to upholding a zero-tolerance policy against any form of insults or disrespect of any kind. Howdy Babe Studio x Tejas Brows has the right to refuse service in cases of disrespectful behavior directed towards our valued artists. Just as we treat our clients with respect and professionalism, we expect the same in return towards our artists and team members.

In the unfortunate event of such behavior or standard not met, all current appointments will be canceled, and the client will be dismissed from our service with no refunds. Additionally, you will NOT be able to book any future appointments.

• State ID Required

  Per Texas Law,

  You must be 18 years or older to receive a cosmetic tattoo. State ID or DL is required at appointment.

• Under Age & Pregnancy

  We do NOT perform any services if you are pregnant due to the risk of infection and the State Health Department Laws.

  We do NOT perform any services if you are under the age of 18y/o due to State Health Department Laws.

• Deposits/Card on File

  Deposit & Card on file is required to reserve an appointment. Deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE.

• Payment/Card on FIle

  Once a deposit is made your card is saved on file for the final payment made a visit. If you would like to pay in another form (New Card / Cash) you can make a change at visit.

• Refunds

  We do not offer refunds on any of our services or deposits. We strongly encourage you look over the FAQ page before booking an appointment so you know with confidence you are ready.

• No-Show

  If NO SHOW to your appointment and do not notify any of our staff 72 hrs prior, you will forfeit your deposit and be charged the full 100% amount of the service you missed. You may also be required to rebook and pay a new deposit if you wish to continue with your procedure.

• Reschedules

  If something comes up and you won’t make your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible. We do require at least 24 hours minimum to be notified, or you will be charged for the service with the card on file. If you would then like to reschedule your appointment for a later date, you will be able to transfer your initial deposit to apply to your appointment. You have up to 6months from initial deposit date to reschedule your initial visit. If you do not reschedule during those 6mo, you simply forfeit your deposit and you will have to book a new service and pay a new deposit. If you are deciding to cancel your appointment, you will simply forfeit your deposit.

• Cancel

  If you choose to completely cancel your appointment, you will simply forfeit your deposit. You may also be required to rebook and pay a new deposit if you wish to continue with your procedure.

• Perfecting Session 12mo Expiration Date

  After your Initial appointment is completed you have up to 12 months from the initial appointment to schedule your perfecting session. If your perfecting session is not booked during the twelve month period, you will forfeit your complimentary session and pay towards a Yearly Color Boost Service. You may also be required to rebook and pay a new deposit if you wish to continue with your procedure.

• Previous Tattoo

  If you show up to the appointment with any previous eyebrow tattoo and did NOT have the consultation with the artist, you will be asked to leave the studio and forfeit your deposit and be charged 100% of the full amount. Please submit clear bare photos of brows to email: tejasbrows@gmail.com to have them reviewed. Once reviewed you will then receive an email with acceptance or denied visit. Also you will receive your own link to book your visit. That includes initial and perfecting session for a brow cover up. Please read the FAQ prior to booking. We value your time so please respect ours.

• Concerns

  Our goal is to produce the best work posible that leaves our clients delighted with their new eyebrows. In the rare event that you have any concerns about the results, we encourage open and respectful communication so that we can address them effectively. Tejas Brows is committed to maintaining a positive and respectful environment, and we do not tolerate any form of insults or disrespect towards the artist. Failure to comply with this standard may lead to the immediate cancellation of current or future appointments, with no refunds.

• Guest

  Company is not allowed in room where service is being provided and no children are allowed in the studio, either. Children are not permitted in the studio due to Health Department Laws. There are sharp tools while the procedure and delicate work. We want our clients to be able to relax and enjoy their beauty service without having to be on parent mode, we know first hand how it is.

DAY OF VISIT

Bring a BLACK colored top

Bring light blanket or an extra sweater

(I do not offer any blankets during the service for sanitation purposes) It get a bit chilly in the studio.

*Eyelash Extensions

If you go to your lash appointment after your brows and during your healing period, please let your lash artist know of your freshly new brows. We are not responsible for any freshly ink removed on brows. Your lash artist should have other alternatives to protect your brows, like lint free cotton pad over your new brows. Please remember that this is your investment brows, so Love them while in the healing process.

1. For 1 hr post appointment, blot your brows with a clean tissue to remove plasma. If the oozing dries on the brows, it’ll create massive scabs, and the brows will peel and flake like crazy!

2. Within a few hrs post appointment, wash your brows with the aftercare foam soap.

A. Wash hands
B. Get TINY bit of soap and some water OUTSIDE OF SHOWER

C. Wash gently in direction of hair. It’s a LIGHT swipe, just to help remove excess oil, oozing etc. NO circles or scrubbing
D. RINSE THOROUGHLY. Cup hands with water and rinse to make sure all soap is removed.
E. Pat dry with clean paper towel
F. Apply balm (TINY AMOUNT, NOT GOOPY)

3. Wash morning and night for 10 days

4. Apply balm/lotion morning noon and night for 10 days. You will have enough left over for touchup if you're using it correctly. RICE GRAIN amount will cover BOTH brows. NOT rice grain on each.

What to EXPECT

Fading 30-40 percent

light flaking/scabbing

Brows will darken, then gradually lighten after the 10days

What to AVOID

No getting them wet other than washing OUTSIDE of shower. This includes shower, sweating, sauna, hot tub, ETC.

No direct sunlight for 2 weeks

NO MAKEUP. LOTION. FACE WASH. SERUMS. SHAMPOO. CONDITIONER Etc can touch them for two whole weeks. After that, avoid all products on them that include active ingredients (acne or anti aging products)

NO picking or scratching at scabs.

DO NOT sleep on face!

I know, it’s a roller coaster of emotions, but trust the process.
